New Feature – Keyword Density Checker

SteerPoint Marketing has released a new tool for web content writers and web page designers. The new keyword density checker tool allows clients to check the keyword density of their pages and determine whether it is too high, too low, or at an effective level. For companies or businesses trying to improve their online traffic through SEO practices, the keyword density checker is an incredibly helpful tool.

Writing web page content with high keyword density was, for a long time, the practice of key importance for search engine optimizations. Search engine spiders or crawlers were drawn to pages that included the most keywords relevant to the search. Thus the practice of keyword stuffing was born, or using the keyword as often as possible in order to bring their page to the top of search engine results.

In more recent times search engine web designers have recognized the deceptive nature of keyword stuffing, and have taken steps to penalize the web pages that try to fool the search engine crawlers. The algorithms written for crawlers and spiders have been changed so that web pages are judged by far more than just their use of the keyword. In fact, if a crawler determines that the keyword density is too high then the page is automatically moved down the list of results.

Spiders determine keyword density by finding the percentage of times the keyword is used on a page compared to the total number of words on a page. If a specific 3-word phrase is used 10 times in a 300 word document, then the keyword density for that phrase is 10%. Generally a keyword density of 10% is too high, especially on a page as short as 300 words.

The keyword density checker from SteerPoint takes the guesswork out of SEO and content marketing, helping writers and marketers know how to make their web pages most effective. Try out the keyword density checker today to see for yourself how it can help your business.
