Facebook Social Rubbernecking

socialrubberneckingOk, after three months of posting and commenting (SEO testing) on Facebook I came to the conclusion that Facebook is a fantastic social media site to reconnect to current and past friends/people. In my short time on Facebook I did generate traffic to sites as planed from specific post. The biggest surprise was the Social Rubbernecking that took place daily. Just like the person driving by a car accident (looking to see something bad) people did respond 85% more to a post or comment if a negative emotional/experience was connected to the comment or post.

It became clear over the past few months that people wanted to hear and engage with other people that are in trouble or experiencing a tough time (hence the title Social Rubbernecking). So, my opinion (everyone has one) if you want to use Facebook for business, make sure you are engaging the viewers with emotion and real life experience.
