SEO Indianapolis - Steerpoint Marketing

Wow just downloaded the new software from Google to replace Internet Explorer!  I have been frustrated with IE 6, 7 and as a developer Microsoft platforms have been a real pain in my backside.  Google Chrome is super fast and not hard to figure out.  It may take the average web surfer a few days but this platform is fantastic!  Maybe with the launch of Chrome Microsoft will finally kill IE6 and demand the new technology or face the path of no market share in the future. 

As I spend more time I will keep you up to speed on Chrome and the Pros and Cons.

I guess it was a matter of time for Google to start to loose employees to start their own company.  Like in most business around the world if you don’t show your top employees how important they are (money- ownership- acknowledgement) then they are bound to head out the door one day!  Cuil.com (pronounced “cool”) “run by a team of former Google employees” has been launched but as of this time offline to which I couldn’t start to speculate.
I will over the next week get back and give you a full update on this new search engine for the entire pro and cons.

Ok for everyone out there that thinks SEO is all about search results you need to keep reading!
We all know that an effective SEO campaign will get your web site high on the search results but a properly position SEO campaign will also help with your company or product brand. For example – I recently took on a client Castalia Homes for an SEO campaign for “Green Builders Indianapolis”. We all know the housing market is in the toilet and fewer people are looking to build a home. So this campaign was to gain in the rankings so that when the market starts to turn Castalia Homes has been branded as the Green Builder in Indianapolis. In fact by being found on page one of Google Castalia Homes was featured in the local newspaper as a Green Builder in Indianapolis.
So when you say you don’t need SEO for your company’s web site you are eliminating Brand awareness on the web.

Ok before everyone gets too excited about Flash and changing their site I would like for you to read a quick post on this from John Andrews – “Is it time to Block Flash for SEO purpose?”.  There are some great points and I believe the military way of “hurry up and wait” may be a good strategy till the - cat is out of the bag!

Most clients dont understand the true value of SEO, so I recently developed the “Derby Theory”. This is when you have the best horse in the field and in the right starting gate, but when the gate opens and there is no jockey to guide the horse to the finish line. Most clients will have a solid look, feel and functional site but are still missing what is need to be found on the web.  

We justed launched a new Indianapolis Golf Course directory site for Greater Indianapolis.  This site is design with the end user in mind and focuses on the basic but essential items when looking to find a course to play.

Just found this and thought it would be a great way for those having a hard time getting what socal marketing is all about!
